REVIEWS:

"Fabulous novel of two culturally and sexually disparate men who become each others mentors and fall in love. A romance between a Spanish-American architect and a Moroccan self-made man which showcases that love is love, whomever you choose, and that you can do what you believe in especially with the support of a strong partner. Tomas, an architect, builds his dreamed-of organic home as a tribute to their love when all seems lost and Hassad has left him. Intense characterization, humor, pathos, and a lot of adventure. I loved it!" -- Half.com

A ground-breaking consideration in the relevancy of gender, March 21, 2003

Reviewer: Chayo Frank from Miami, Fl USA
"Does love of the person lead to a transcendence of gender? Rather than a love evolving from a physical attraction, can a physical attraction evolve from love, regardless of gender? S.E. poses this question and weaves an entertaining storyline as her protagonist comes to grip with the ambiguities posed by such a relationship. This is not a "coming-out" party; it is a "what is love all about" party. I recommend "Falcon Room" to any intrigued by the possibilities of love freed from convention." -- Amazon.com

A Lyrical Masterpiece, March 19, 2003
Reviewer: A reader from Renton, Washington USA
"Without question, Hedrick is as much poet as novelist. Every sentence, every paragraph, flows with beauty, anger, passion, confusion and intrigue. The story is set against global backdrops and painted in prose that not only takes you to the setting, but leaves you breathless.
The characters are so real, so vivid, so deep, that the homo-erotic tension is lost in what truly is a wonderful, believable love story
True love often finds itself in the most unusual ways. This wonderful work reinforces that belief. Buy this book, treasure its words, enjoy the story. Hedrick is remarkable."

The Falcon Room
J.Morgan U.S. (12/27/2003)
"The Falcon Room" is poignant and deeply moving, unique, highly-emotional, funny, but exquisitely simple. Hedrick moves relentlessly in the narrative, with each chapter leading to the next like a screenplay. Hedrick expresses the essence of what one man in the book felt was almost forbidden. A love for someone of the same sex. Something he never dreamed of, or asked for. Love for this handsome stranger with the dangerous smile will surely change his life forever.
For the novice of life's experiences of love there is much to be learned here! This book will teach you! The clarity and simplicity of Hedrick's style is balanced with substance, i.e. philosophical and spiritual undertones. Hedrick. . . has a unique gift for writing dialogue, and also shows a mastery of language with the creation of just the right amount of slang to mimic real life. Another interesting facet is the way Hedrick deals with the idea of two men so much in love. Many in our society still struggle with homosexuality; this book uncovers the true meaning of the way two people can care about each other, no matter what sex they are.
The Falcon Room rewards its reader with true love and its challenges. Beautifully written, strong, moving, emotional. . a classic novel, a classy author. A hard book to let go of! "The Falcon Room" makes an excellent addition to other great books of love and adventure.
Could there be a sequel? First, I want to see the movie!
